Professional Corporate Spy Anna Smith sat on a very uncomfortable bus seat surrounded by her follow beauty product factory workers in all their outfits, height and sizes as they all talked and laughed with each other about their busy workday ahead.

Anna simply looked out the window and watched the rich beautiful English countryside roll past them as the little bus drove onwards to the factory in the middle of nowhere. She wasn’t exactly keen on her fellow workers after the past six months, but a job was certainly that. Just a job.

Normally in July Anna tended to focus more on spying on ice cream, holiday agencies and sun cream makers because it was about summer time when the rivals pay extremely good money for information. But even Anna loved a good sob story from time to time.

So when a client contacted her through her extremely encrypted email address and told her the story about a local factory that was brainwashing their workers into mindless drones and poisoning the soil, leading to crop failure for the local villages. Anna was a little more interested in this potential job.

Granted she was hardly impressed by the sheer stink of some of the workers with their constant and immensely strong body odour, smell of alcohol and cheap whiskey on their breath. But they all seemed to be good people, and the management seemed to be even better.

She couldn’t completely understand why her employer, who had already paid her a hundred thousand pounds, believed the workers were being brainwashed. Yet her employer was right about one thing, the upper-upper management was mysterious and mystical and definitely hiding something.

The bus shook a little as it turned onto a dirt road and Anna rolled her eyes as she knew that they would soon all be at the factory.

It had taken Anna six months just to get into the main production area of the factory instead of being in the office section. Yet even the office was rather fascinating because all the documents, invoices and other essential paperwork seemed perfect to the untrained eye. But Anna knew a lot better.

Someone in upper-upper management was forging the paperwork that was later sent to investors (who invested up to a million pounds a year) and government agencies.

This was fraud on a massive scale.

Anna just smiled to herself as she got more and more excited about her day ahead. After she had managed to... prevent the normal worker from taking the upper management their afternoon tea, Anna had spiked the tea, cakes and scones with eyedrops so needlessly to say the management would be very ill today.

That was why Anna always made a point to carry round a green fanny pack that looked like a first aid kit. It always contained official first aid supplies and underneath were a bunch of spy equipment. Like knock-out drops, a USB drive with password unlocking software and a little EMP device that her ex-husband made her one Christmas in case she ever needed to knock out a building’s power supplies.
